Trophy Eyes premiere new song “Penfold State Forest”

October 22nd, 2014 by Megan Washington

Trophy Eyes

Newcastle, Australia natives, Trophy Eyes are excited to premiere their new song “Penfold State Forest” today! The track is the third single off the band’s upcoming debut full-length, Mend, Move On, which will be released November 4th, 2014 via Hopeless Records. Stream “Penfold State Forest” here:

Regarding the song’s lyrics, vocalist John Floreani shares, “Sometimes I think of what my life really is, and what it consists of. Every cloud might have a silver lining, but that would mean ignoring the gigantic mass of dull grey that is the cloud. What if the only thing I’m remembered for when I die is a bunch of shitty sad songs? And who is even going to remember? I am a living example of what actually happens when you dream big, and that is nothing. Hardly a legacy. Penfold is about where I am in life right now, and the moral battle of doing the right thing, even when it’s not what you want but more in the interest of the ones you love.”

Trophy Eyes recently premiered their first single and music video for “In Return.” Fans can watch the video here: The song is also available for purchase now on iTunes:

Hailing from Newcastle, Australia, Trophy Eyes bring together their own combination of aggressive pop punk and melodic hardcore. The 5-piece band began making waves worldwide with the 2013 release of their emotionally driven EP Everything Goes Away. Mend, Move On is the band’s debut full-length album.

Regarding the content of the record, Floreani shares, “Mend, Move On is made up of the stories and memories that I think defined my life so far and acted as lessons throughout my transition from adolescence to adulthood. Those significant moments and events range from nearly driving off a cliff in an old friend’s car to giving the girl of my dreams my sweet grandmother’s earrings for her 21st birthday. I’m fortunate to have lived my interesting little life – I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Mend, Move On will be released November 4th, 2014.
