Awaken The Empire Cancel Shows This Week After Gear & Van Stolen

August 7th, 2012 by Megan Washington

The LA-based alternative-electronica four-piece Awaken the Empire has been forced to cancel their next two weeks of shows on the Eyes Set To Kill tour after the band’s tour van, gear and instruments were stolen before their show in San Antonio, Texas last Saturday night. The band will pick back up on the tour in Chicago on August 18th at Reggie’s Rock Club.

Frontman, Damien Lawson explains how important continuing this tour is for the band in spite of this weekend’s unfortunate events. “We preach following your dreams at any cost, so this is our opportunity to show everyone that we are more than just talk. We refuse to let this stand in the way of our dreams.”

Lawson immediately setup a Pay Pal account to receive donations from fans and friends. Lawson states, “We are so grateful to have such amazing friends and fans to help get us through this. The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming. Insomniacs Unite!” Fans and friends can donate to the band, here: http://bit.ly/MlbPaG

Eyes Set to Kill will remain on tour without interruption but posted a message of support for Awaken the Empire yesterday on their own Facebook page, asking Eyes Set to Kill fans to donate to the band’s Pay Pal so they can return to the tour as soon as possible.
