November 2002
Conducted by: Shana Loupe
Label: Maverick

*My favorite song on the album in “Constellation”. What’s yours?
Justin: Um, my favorite song is “Letter”. That’s one of my pasionate songs, it’s important to me and it was the last song to be put on the album, so it’s really fresh.
Hannah: I like “Constellation” a lot. I really love performing it. It’s a really fun song. “Letter” is fresh, I love it.

*How does it feel being compared to bands such as The Goo Goo Dolls and The Foo Fighters?
Justin: That’s amazing, they’re like our role models. We look up to those bands. Goo Goo Dolls are one of my favorite bands.
Hannah: Whoa, they’re two excellent bands, that’s insane. They are bands we’ve seen in concert and idolized. We’re not like them!

*Are there any great unsigned/independently signed artists you’d like the rest of the music industry to know about?
Justin: There’s this girl named Jessica Harp. She’s really cool.
Hannah: Jessica Harp. I think she’s great!

*Do you like pineapple?
Justin: Yes, I love pineapple.
*STARDUST*: Have you ever heard of Chai?
Justin: Is that the Japanese tea?
*STARDUST*: Yeah, I think so.
Justin: Yeah, I like it. Do you like Sushi?
*STARDUST*: Ewwww…no. *laughs*
Hannah: I LOVE pineapple! Oh my gosh, I wish I had some right now!
*STARDUST*: Have you ever tried Chai?
Hannah: No, what is that?

*STARDUST*: It’s tea. Omg! You have to try it. A friend of mine got me hooked on it last summer. It’s the best. Ask Justin about it and go to Starbuck’s!
Hannah: I’ll have to try that! I think I wanna try some now!

*Hannah, what is your reaction to the extremely positive feedback you’ve been receiving about your position in the band?
Hannah: It’s pretty awesome. It’s kinda like, we thought that Justin would get it. I never expected it for me. But it’s really cool.

*Justin, how do you compare/contrast your writing and music on “Upstart” to the new album?
Justin: There’s a big difference. I wrote the songs for “Upstart” when I was 12, 13, 14, and 15, and when I wrote the songs for the new album, I was 16, 17, and 18. So, there’s a big difference.

*What would you like to tell your fans?
Hannah: Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!! We have a awesome fan base! Thank you!!

Eighter Justin’s phone went dead or Hannah hung up on accident…so Nick didn’t get to grace us with his answers. We’ll post them for you if he ever calls back or e-mails in.
