* What was your first reaction when you realized that you had just stepped into Atlantic Records and been told such great news?
Just being invited to meet with the vice president of the company was such an amazing experience. I remember it was two days after I’d graduated high school as a junior, and it was such an exciting time. My first reaction was basically, “Is this for real or am I just dreaming?” I had to pinch myself several times! *ouch* lol.

* When you toured with Dream and O-Town, did you pull any pranks on one another?
Nah, no pranks. O-Town are really fun guys though. And as for Dream, they’re just like your typical girl-next-door type. They were very sweet and down to earth.

* How do you feel you differ from artists like Britney Spears?
Well, I feel that I’m much more into making good music and expressing myself through that rather than just looking cute or sexy. It’s not really about my image, but actually the art of making music. It’s real!

* What’s been the most valuable lesson that you’ve learned?
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is to trust your instincts and listen to the people that love you, your family. It’s really hard to be able to trust people in the business; everybody is out for themselves so it’s so important to surround yourself with your family.

* We ask everyone this question–and I really don’t know why–do you like pineapple?
Haha, what a great question. As a matter of face, I love pineapple! =)

* What advice do you offer other aspiring entertainers?
I would say that you need to first off, believe in yourself before anyone else can believe in you. Also, educate yourself in as many ways as possible. The music industry is a business, and the more you know about it, the better off you’ll be. Oh, and of coarse…NEVER GIVE UP! Don’t let anyone keep you from your dreams!

* How long do you approximately spend on each song in the studio?
Hmmm, I guess it depends. It can be anywhere from 4 hours to 4 days!

* What’s your favorite city to perform in?
That’s gotta be my hometown, Chicago!!!

* What would you like to say to all of your fans?
Wow–words can’t express how much I appreciate your support! You guys are my strength! Thank you…
